Grade Levels
K-3, Grades 4 - 6This ongoing professional learning series invites K–6 teachers to come together as a collaborative community focused on high-quality social studies teaching and learning. Facilitated by Cheryl Babin & Petronella Bouvier, Designers of Professional Learning from APLC, participants will:
- Engage in rich conversations with colleagues about curriculum implementation
- Gather, share, and co-create practical classroom resources
- Collaboratively design and refine assessment practices
- Work through real-time challenges and celebrate successes
Through a balance of facilitated Grade K-3 and Grade 4-6 break-outs and teacher-led dialogue, this series builds strong networks across schools in Alberta, fosters professional confidence, and strengthens the design and delivery of social studies instruction. Together, we will support students in becoming active, informed, and engaged citizens.
This learning opportunity is being offered through a grant from Alberta Education.
